PROGRAMMES & FAMILY SUPPORT

REACH Weekend Sessions and Evening Hub Club

REACH is our flagship weekend programme at The Inclusive Hub.

Each weekend, children, young people, adults and families come together to take part in fun-based boxing, inclusive fitness, social games and community activities. The sessions are built around confidence, movement, friendship, routine and belonging.

Participants who attend REACH have a wide range of additional needs, disabilities and lived experiences. This includes autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, wheelchair users, people with hearing or visual impairments, physical disabilities, complex needs and those who may be experiencing social isolation.

REACH is not just about exercise. It gives people a safe, welcoming and positive place to be themselves, meet others and feel part of a community.

Our Evening Hub Club is an extension of this work. It offers a more relaxed social space with refreshments, games, mentoring, fitness activities and informal support. It gives participants the chance to build friendships, develop confidence and enjoy time at the Hub outside of the weekend sessions.

These sessions also create an important support network for parents, carers and families, giving them the chance to connect with others who understand similar challenges.

Weekday SEND, School, College and Care Group Sessions

During the week, The Inclusive Hub delivers sessions for SEND schools, mainstream schools, colleges, adult day care groups, supported living services and individuals with physical or complex needs.

These sessions are designed around the needs of each group. Activities can include fun-based boxing, gym work, fitness circuits, confidence-building activities, mentoring, social time and emotional wellbeing support.

We work with each school, college or organisation to create a session that is safe, engaging and suitable for the people attending.

The aim is to improve confidence, fitness, mobility, social connection and mental wellbeing. For many participants, the Hub also becomes a pathway into further opportunities such as work experience, volunteering, education, training or additional community activities.

Families, carers and professionals often tell us that the impact goes beyond the session itself, helping people feel calmer, more confident and more connected in their everyday lives.

Community Active Morning Sessions

Our Community Active Morning Sessions run on weekday mornings and support adults who want to improve their physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence and social connection.

These sessions are particularly suitable for adults who may be living with long-term health conditions, reduced mobility, low confidence, bereavement, isolation or other personal challenges.

Participants may be referred or signposted by health professionals, community partners, family members, friends, or they may contact The Hub directly themselves.

Activities can include light gym work, supported exercise, walking on curve treadmills, spin bikes, ski ergs, free weights, stretching, yoga, fun-based boxing, mobility work and social time.

The sessions are friendly, welcoming and person-centred. Nobody is expected to be at a certain fitness level. The aim is to help people move more, feel better, meet others and build a positive routine in a safe community setting.

Family Engagement and Parent Peer Support

Being the parent or carer of a child, young person or adult with additional needs can be rewarding, but it can also feel challenging, isolating and overwhelming at times.

At The Inclusive Hub, we know that many families are navigating complicated systems around education, health, benefits, social care, diagnosis, behaviour, transport and day-to-day family life.

Our Family Engagement and Parent Peer Support sessions give parents, carers and family members a relaxed space to meet others who understand.

The sessions are informal, friendly and built around lived experience. Families can talk, share advice, build friendships and support each other over a cup of tea.

This is not a formal advice service. It is a safe community space where families can feel listened to, understood and less alone.

The group is supported by Julie Mangan, our Family Engagement Ambassador, who has been part of The Inclusive Hub since the early days and understands first-hand how important the right support network can be.

Where suitable, parents and carers are also welcome to use the gym facilities before sessions begin, helping them look after their own physical and mental wellbeing too.

Workshops and Training Suite Sessions

The Inclusive Hub delivers workshops for schools, colleges, community groups, families and partner organisations.

These workshops can take place at The Inclusive Hub in our training suite, or as outreach sessions delivered in schools, colleges and community venues.

The sessions are built around real-life themes that affect children, young people, adults and families. Topics can include confidence, positive choices, emotional wellbeing, healthy relationships, online safety, anti-bullying, inclusion, disability awareness, crime prevention, exploitation, life skills, resilience and community safety.

Workshops are designed to be practical, engaging and easy to understand. We avoid classroom-style lectures and instead use discussion, activities, lived experience, mentoring and positive role models to help people connect with the subject.

Where suitable, workshops can also be combined with fun-based boxing, fitness or wellbeing activities to make the session more active and engaging.

Our training suite gives us a dedicated space to deliver group learning, discussion and support within the Hub. We can also adapt workshops for different ages, abilities and needs, including SEND groups, young people at risk, parents and carers, and community organisations.

The aim is to give people useful knowledge, confidence and practical tools they can take into everyday life.

School Outreach and Mentoring Sessions

Our school outreach sessions allow us to take the work of The Inclusive Hub into schools and community settings.

These sessions are usually delivered as a structured programme of mentoring, fitness and wellbeing support. They are designed for pupils who may need help with confidence, behaviour, attendance, physical activity, emotional wellbeing or engagement with education.

The sessions use fun-based boxing, fitness and positive mentoring to build trust with young people. We work alongside schools to support pupils who may be struggling, disengaged or finding it difficult to manage emotions and behaviour in the school environment.

The aim is to give young people a positive outlet, a trusted adult relationship and practical tools to help them re-engage with school, build self-belief and make better choices.

School Holiday Activity Programme

The Inclusive Hub delivers school holiday activity programmes for children and young people, with a particular focus on supporting those with SEND, additional needs and families who may need extra support during school holidays.

Our holiday programmes include inclusive fitness, fun-based boxing, games, enrichment activities, food, social time and wellbeing support.

We have delivered holiday activity programmes through both Sefton Council and Liverpool City Council, including HAF-funded provision.

These sessions give children and young people a safe, active and welcoming place to attend during the school holidays. They also provide important support for families by creating structure, routine, food support and positive activity during periods when many families can feel under pressure.

Youth Support and Violence Reduction Programmes

The Inclusive Hub has delivered targeted youth support and violence reduction programmes in partnership with local organisations, schools and statutory services.

These programmes support young people who may be at risk of becoming involved in crime, anti-social behaviour, exploitation or negative peer influence.

We use fitness, fun-based boxing, mentoring, life skills, enrichment activity and positive role models to build trust and create a safe space for young people to talk, reflect and grow.

The work is especially focused on young people living in areas affected by deprivation, high crime rates and limited access to positive opportunities.

Our aim is to help young people build confidence, improve decision-making, feel supported and see a more positive future for themselves.

Work Experience and Volunteering

The Inclusive Hub is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for people with additional needs, disabilities and barriers to employment.

Our work experience and volunteering opportunities are designed to build confidence, routine, communication skills and practical workplace experience in a supportive environment.

Placements can include helping with equipment, setting up sessions, supporting activities, cleaning and organising gym spaces, welcoming visitors and learning about how a community organisation operates.

We tailor the opportunity around the individual, making sure it is realistic, positive and suited to their needs.

For many people, work experience at The Hub is a first step towards volunteering, training, further education or employment.

We use fully trained professional coaches to deliver our sessions and all are DBS checked and experienced in working with people of all needs and abilities. We have experience in working with young people with ASD and other neurodivergent conditions, and recognise the individual approaches needed to build trust and effective relationships. Our staff have had training from Henshaws in working with visually impaired people, up to date Prevent training, Mental Health First Aid, Youth Leader Level 1 & 2, Safeguarding and have completed Food Hygiene training to allow us the deliver the HAF programme.
